Removals to the USA

What you're moving to America
What you move to your new home in America is just as important as how we move it for you. Your household goods and personal effects can usually be imported duty free, provided they have been owned for at least 12 months before arriving in the USA. Most containers arriving in America will be subject to examination by US customs. To import your household goods, we will provide you with the correct customs form which must be completed prior to your goods leaving the UK.
Prohibitions and restrictions on things you may move to America
In general it is in your interest not to import the following items to the United States of America:
- Firearms & ammunition
- Inflammable (or - as they say in America - flammable) goods & substances
- Plants & plant material
- Foodstuffs, perishables or otherwise
- Narcotics and dangerous goods
- Offensive materials
- Alcohol & Tobacco
Transit times
Transit of groupage (shared load) consignments usually takes 8 to 11 weeks via the East Coast and 11 to 14 weeks if going via the West Coast. Sole use containers will normally take two weeks to the East Coast and four weeks to the West Coast. However, transit times will also vary depending on the size of your consignment, customs or immigration delays and weather conditions. More information on overseas removals shipping times
Moving your domestic pets to America
We can recommend a specialised shipper of animals to assist you in sending your family pets to your new home in America. They will coordinate all documentation and necessary veterinary procedures for you and help clear your pets when they arrive in the USA. Find out more about moving your pets abroad.

How are our appointments carried out
In the current times you might prefer that we don't visit your house in person to carry out a survey. This is fully understandable and we can just as easily undertake the survey by video call, using whatever method you're comfortable with, usually FaceTime or WhatsApp.

I have never seen something so well protected before -- Thanks Chris and Alan. Everything arrived exactly as it left. This was all managed by Matthew Myers who was excellent from start to finish
